This is a Part 2 to Rocks & Revelation. Taken out of Matthew 17, Jesus has just come from the region of Caesarea Philippi asking the question, “Who do man say that I am?”
After this incredible conversation, Jesus and his followers begin the journey to Jerusalem, most likely stopping at Mt. Tabor on the way. This mountain was like a dome in the middle of nowhere. One of the strong administrative and military places in the region.
It’s at this place that Jesus takes only three, Peter, James, John. As they ascend the mountain, they begin to pray and Jesus is transfigured into a glorified body before them.
This encounter was an even deeper revelation of the previous encounter in Matthew 16, at the gates of Hell.
